Coronavirus Case Reported In Sindh, National Tally Rises To 30

Pakistan on Saturday registered another coronavirus case in the country, taking the total toll of the cases across the country to 30, reported Geo News.

The new case was reported in Karachi.

The patient arrives from Saudi Arab a few days return and was approved positive today. This brings the total number of cases to 16 in Sindh out of which 2 have recovered and sent home and 14 are under treatment,” said a statement by the provincial health department.

Earlier, Islamabad had reported its first coronavirus case, the patient, a 30-year-old woman, had traveled from the US to Pakistan a few days ago.


The PIMS officials said that the woman’s condition was critical and she had been placed on a ventilator. The woman was brought to the hospital from a private hospital.

Karachi has been the worst affected city so far, with 16 of the total confirmed cases. Of the remaining, five cases have been noted in Gilgit-Baltistan and one case has been reported each in Hyderabad and Quetta.

Globally, more than 5,000 people have died and more than 145,000 infected globally by COVID-19 as the disease spreads rapidly in new territories.

The epicenter of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases every day.
